This is a picture of Roald Dahl when he was in the RAF.
The Green Mamba
Roald Dahl went to his friend's house and a bit later on he saw a green mamba snake. It came right in to the house and straight up the stairs. It was a good thing that he saw it because if he didn't his friends and himself would be killed. So he told his friends and one of the grown ups passed the children out of the window to escape. There was one thing which was bad about it because the dog got killed. One of the grown ups drove off in his car to get the snake man. The snake man was a person who liked snakes. He went into the house but he didn't see the green mamba snake. Then Roald Dahl saw the green mamba. It was right behind the sofa. One of the grown ups signalled to the snake man it was right behind the sofa. The snake man saw the signal but he didn't catch it straight away. He stepped very slowly down the living room. Even though he had very small footsteps the snake could still sense it. It woke up immediately and dashed straight towards the snake man and bit him on the boot. Luckily they were very thick. He caught it with a special stick like a litter-upper-picker-upper. He put it in a sack and drove away with it.

This is a green mamba snake - it can kill you!
