Roald Dahl had to stop flying as he started to get really bad headaches after his plane crashed in the Western Desert. He went on a boat to get home. The trip was dangerous because of the German torpedoes. They were almost hit by one, it sprayed them with lots of water and caused a mini tidal wave by the boat.
